Faculty of Tourism Delegation Visit to UNWTO Office in Madrid

On November 25, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Devi Kausar (Dean of the Faculty of Tourism), Assoc. Prof. Sarojini Imran (Head of Center for Tourism Studies & Development), and  Dr. Agustan from the National Research & Innovation Agency, had the opportunity to visit the UNWTO Office in Madrid, Spain. The purpose of the visit was to open opportunities for cooperation in knowledge development, capacity building and to discuss TEDQUAL Certification by UNWTO. The visit was warmly welcomed by the UNWTO team, which was attended by Ms. Natalia Bayona, Director of Innovation, Education and Investments; Mr Alejandro Gutiérrez, Online Education Team; Mr José Díaz, IEI and Mr Yang Li, Regional Project Specialist, UNWTO – Regional Department for Asia and The Pacific, the meeting also attended by Ms Ashila Reza, Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Spain.

Possibilities for collaboration were discussed during presentation on UNWTO  Innovation and Education Services, which included UNWTO Tourism Online Academy, UNWTO Academy and Quality Assurance, and  UNWTO Students League. During the meeting, delegates from the Faculty of Tourism expressed interest in the TEDQUAL Certification and reported Pancasila University’s students achievement in the UNWTO Students League “Rural Development Challenge” as one of the teams in the top ten globally.
